At some point college is going to end and we are going to have to find jobs. One of the best was to do this in the leading search sites like InDeed and Beyond are to search by specific skill sets and not just job titles. For instance the 5 listings below were found not by typing in Photographer but by looking for photography specific software skills like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign.

This strategy works far better sometimes as people looking for Good Photographers, and not a monkey to run a Photo Booth, are changing the job titles around. They aren’t looking for a photographer , they are looking for a Digital Still Media Producer or an Art Director.
It is also important to remember that a lot of the good photography jobs are hidden in a closed system. This means 90% of the good jobs are not posted online at all. One specific way to overturn these rocks is to target searches on online sites for paid internships at major companies. I have interviewed 4 working photographers in the last year and all of them found their Full-time position this way. This is because hiring a creative can be a dangerous commitment when picking from an unproven pool, with interns you know what you are hiring and what they are capable of.
I’d go with the wedding photographer job. It sounds like more fun!
